I Heart NY

Hello all!  My husband, TJ, and I spent last weekend in one our favorite places, New York City.  Although physically exhausting (No cabs for us! Subways and walking for the win!), we love the place so much that it’s worth it pain.  Here are a few photos from our recent trip…

Sweet hats in FAO Schwarz.  I almost bought these, for reals.

Us in Times Square, a wee bit sun burnt from our afternoon in Central Park

The Brooklyn Bridge, featuring Empire State and Chrysler Buildings in the background

Manhattan Skyline, shot from the Brooklyn Promenade (perhaps my most favorite place).

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge toward Manhattan, with the Freedom Tower shining brightly to my left.

We’re missing NYC already but are looking forward to heading back in a few months!  :)

Featured!

A few weeks ago I was approached by an editor at Sash and Satin, Canada’s freshest wedding blog, to have my work featured on their blog. Honored, I of course said yes! The feature went live this afternoon and I’m thrilled with it! Check it out!

Jordanna and Chris

Allow me present Jordanna and Chris – one pretty awesome couple.  Jordanna and Chris are getting married in October in at a beautiful country venue (stayed tuned for those photos, coming late fall).  Because the wedding venue is in the country, Jordanna and Chris wanted to go urban for their engagement shoot.  They felt it would reflect them as a couple – a little bit country, a little bit city.  Brilliant!  This is one of the many reasons I love my clients – they are smart, fun, and creative. :)  The engagement shoot was a blast and I can’t wait until the wedding.  Aren’t they wonderful?  Check it out.

Back in the Blog-o-sphere!

Hello! After a long break over the winter months, I’m returning to my blog. While I can’t guarantee fresh content everyday, I’ll certainly be posting more frequently. :) Perhaps maybe even more than y’all care to hear from me.

As you may know, I love shooting my clients (with a camera, not a gun – just to be clear). However in my “off” time when my camera and I have idle time, we like to fill it with exercising creative vision. I love creating fine art images in my off time and have quite a collection built up, much of which I have featured in a previous blog of mine. There is a mighty strong chance I’ll re-post those images over time here. I hope you enjoy. :)

For today, I’m posting a fresh one. This image has harsher tones than folks are used to seeing on the blog, but it’s always fun to play around outside of the norm. In fine art, I looooooove texture and contrast which may be why I am drawn to photographing trees.

Enjoy!

Cooper feat. Andrea and Tony!

Welcome to Cooper’s post!  I say “Cooper’s post” because he was such a star.  How freakin adorable is this child?  And kudos to Andrea and Tony for making him even cuter by putting that fabulous monkey hat on his head.  It made my day!  And speaking of Tony and Andrea, they weren’t too shabby themselves.  Thanks for a great day guys!
